Do you want to coach at Hanover High School?

This is a recent plea from the HHS athletic department.

We are still in need of coaches for winter sports.  Please consider coaching or passing this on to someone else.  We can't run programs without coaches.

Stipends are available for all positions.  Please see the links below for information and/or to apply.  You can also reach out to Megan Sobel, Athletic Director, at megansobel@sau70.org for more information.  Winter sports start in mid-November.

The 19th Annual Gingerbread Festival is on!

We had so much wonderful feedback from the community following our re-imagined festival last year, we’ve decided to repeat the new design – a community display of gingerbread houses and an online auction of those houses to raise funds to support the programs of The Family Place.

You are receiving this letter because at some time in the past you contributed a donation made of gingerbread – the heart of the festival.  We are hoping that you will help us to fulfill our dream to put gingerbread houses in businesses in the downtowns of White River Junction, Norwich, Woodstock, Hanover, and Lebanon/West Lebanon. We are excited at the idea of sharing them with a larger community and have plans for a scavenger hunt with the houses.  I hope that you will consider contributing to the fun again!

Because of the new format, we have different requirements for houses:

Please complete the house submission form by 11/5. It’s ok if you don’t have a name or fully formed concept yet, we just want to know that you are participating! We will follow up for more information after 11/5. You can complete the form online by following this link:

Gingerbread Festival 2021 House Submission Form. If you need the form sent to you as an email attachment, please let us know.

  • Drop-off will be Thursday 11/18 or Friday 11/19.  You will be assigned a drop-off location and day/time.

  • Please make sure your creation is sturdy and neat – we won’t be there with royal icing to do repairs, and it’s more likely that it could be touched.

  • They will stay in place until 12/8, so need to be long-lasting.

  • Please take a photograph of it before delivery and forward it to: gingerbread@the-family-place.org

You have been so generous in the past, and we would love for your help in making this year’s festival just as successful as past years!

Thank you so much!

Circle UP!

Circle Up! Invites all Dresden-Area Community members to participate in monthly meetings to support youth wellness, resiliency, and prevent substance misuse and suicide. Engage on whatever level feels right, bring ideas or listen to what other caregivers are thinking about.

Meetings are the second Tuesday of each month at 7 PM and can be accessed via zoom on this recurring link. Join us November 9th.

Unable to attend meetings, but want to stay involved in the conversation? Please consider joining the Circle Up! Facebook group and our email list UVCircleUp@gmail.com

Also, Red Ribbon Week took place October 23-31st and was a time for communities to unite around substance misuse prevention and show commitment to living a drug-free lifestyle. RMS participated this Fall by sharing with students a red ribbon and posting the drug free pledge in order to show our larger Upper Valley Community that our schools are pledging to promote substance misuse prevention.

Dartmouth - Paid Tutoring

Peter Mikhlin is the tutoring operations chair for Health Access For All (HAFA), a Dartmouth College student group that offers inexpensive tutoring and donates all proceeds to organizations fighting health inequities.
Their members offer tutoring to high school and middle school students, and help high school seniors with college essays. They are all highly qualified Dartmouth students, and all of their proceeds are donated to the nonprofits they support. This term, all of their proceeds will be sent to Good Neighbor Health Clinic, an organization providing free medical and dental care to uninsured adults in the Upper Valley. HAFA tutors can help children who need to brush up on course material, while giving families the opportunity to contribute to their own community. Due to the current pandemic, they are offering financial aid to low-income families, children of essential workers, and financial alleviation for anyone in need, as their main goal is to support the community in all ways possible. .
People can request tutoring by filling out this form, and you can find out more information about their work on our website.
Full price is $30 an hour!
If you have any questions, please reach out to me.
