BC Splash!!

Boston College Splash is a 1-day event held at Boston College each semester where students in grades 7-12 can take fun, engaging classes that are taught and designed by our undergraduate and graduate students!

This semester, our program is back in-person on the BC campus, and we have put together a great day and fantastic lineup of classes over zoom for the students. They can take classes such as The Mathematics of Voting, Little Women 101, Learning to Love Yourself and Life, and many others!

BC Splash will be held on BC's campus on Sunday, November 14th from 9:30am - 4pm.

Our program costs $10 to attend, but we have extremely generous financial aid for any students for whom this is an issue. We do not want students to not come because of cost.

Students can register at our website, bcsplash.learningu.org

Do you want to coach at Hanover High School?

This is a recent plea from the HHS athletic department.

We are still in need of coaches for winter sports.  Please consider coaching or passing this on to someone else.  We can't run programs without coaches.

Stipends are available for all positions.  Please see the links below for information and/or to apply.  You can also reach out to Megan Sobel, Athletic Director, at megansobel@sau70.org for more information.  Winter sports start in mid-November.

Dartmouth - Paid Tutoring

Peter Mikhlin is the tutoring operations chair for Health Access For All (HAFA), a Dartmouth College student group that offers inexpensive tutoring and donates all proceeds to organizations fighting health inequities.
Their members offer tutoring to high school and middle school students, and help high school seniors with college essays. They are all highly qualified Dartmouth students, and all of their proceeds are donated to the nonprofits they support. This term, all of their proceeds will be sent to Good Neighbor Health Clinic, an organization providing free medical and dental care to uninsured adults in the Upper Valley. HAFA tutors can help children who need to brush up on course material, while giving families the opportunity to contribute to their own community. Due to the current pandemic, they are offering financial aid to low-income families, children of essential workers, and financial alleviation for anyone in need, as their main goal is to support the community in all ways possible. .
People can request tutoring by filling out this form, and you can find out more information about their work on our website.
Full price is $30 an hour!
If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Please join the Friends in making our schools stronger, and supporting projects that enrich the student experience. This past year, the Friends made a major rapid-response grant to SAU70 to help underwrite Covid-19 expenses and the important work of the Equity Committee. We also increased our funding of supplies and teacher-led initiatives that will enrich the curriculum and make our schools safer. Other recent grants include funding for a district-wide curriculum review, books for young readers, science and art materials, Responsive Classroom training, and support for an LGBTQ+ workshop.
