Calling all string students! Maya Lynn, a violin performance major at Boston University’s School of Music is looking for students to participate in a summer chamber music intensive. Groups can decide between weekly rehearsals, or a week-long intensive program with daily rehearsals. Rehearsals will be held outside to accommodate safe social distancing practices. Private lessons for violin and practice coaching for viola and cello students will also be offered. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information if interested.
News from the Etna Library
Although the Etna Library building is closed to the public, we continue to provide books, audiobooks and dvd's through item pick-up on our porch. If you would like us to reserve an item for you, please e-mail us at email@example.com or call 603-643-3116. We will also pack bags of books for families if you tell us the ages of your children and their interests. Upcoming adult and children's programs are listed on the Howe Library calendar (https://www.thehowe.org/events.php/pid/3/sid/55/tid/141) and on the Etna Library webpage (https://www.hanovernh.org/etna-library/pages/programs-events).
Friends of Hanover Norwich Schools
Please join the Friends in making our schools stronger, and supporting projects that enrich the student experience. This year, the Friends made a major rapid-response grant to SAU70 to help underwrite Covid-19 expenses and the important work of the Equity Committee. We also increased our funding of supplies and teacher-led initiatives that will enrich the curriculum and make our schools safer. Other recent grants include funding for a district-wide curriculum review, books for young readers, science and art materials, Responsive Classroom training, and support for an LGBTQ+ workshop. Learn more and make a contribution at www.FHNS1961.org. Thank you!
New Resource for Food Insecurity
There's a new food pantry in the region. It's supported by the Haven, hosted (outside) by The Church of Christ at Dartmouth College, and organized by the Hanover Community Food Security Team. It operates Saturdays from 11 am-1 pm, in the church's driveway (40 College Street). It is open to anyone who's short on food. No registration needed but masks will be required.
