Dear RMS Community,
We have had a good start to Q3 at RMS. The portal reopens today to access report cards for Q2. If you have any questions or concerns about grades or comments please contact us.
It is hard to believe we are now over half-way through the year, and experience shows me that the second half of the year will seem to go very quickly. Eighth graders have already begun the transition to HHS with the visit from the High school guidance departments this week. Placement tests and course choices will follow in the months to come, but first, we will celebrate RMS again with our Renaissance Fest. Stay tuned for great opportunities to come and see RMS in action as we move toward spring.
As Q3 has begun we have tried to take a moment to refocus on what is important in the RMS community. Lessons on kindness and respect have served to recenter our emphasis on caring for and helping each other be successful. We live in divisive times (our news shows that every day), but we believe that through continuing to stress what brings us together we can triumph over the times when frustration or fear causes us to be unkind. Witnessing the daily interactions of our students as they laugh, explore, and create helps make every day a little brighter. Thank you.
Student work this week, as the seventh grade focuses on caring and community in historical context of organizing for mill workers in the 19th century. One more example of curriculum coming alive in the halls of RMS.
Enjoy the weekend.
