Message from Administration

Dear RMS Community:

Welcome to the new format of the Friday Focus!  Thanks to the inspiration of other principals, we decided to try to update our decidedly text heavy Focus. We have moved the community interest items to the website (with a link below) in an effort to remain more current and shorten the weekly emails.   Please let us know what you think.

It was a busy and wonderful week here at RMS.  Thursday and Friday saw the culmination of many projects as well as colorful celebrations.  All the creativity, caring, and whimsy that is RMS was on display.

We had Gourd decorating (no pumpkins - thank you to our community for honoring that request)

Door Decorating

And some yummy, creepy, baked confections.

In addition we got to witness spooky PE classes, 7th graders trying to land self designed flying crafts on an “asteroid,” 6th grade brain projects (which always amaze), 8th grade string art and maps of the silk road, and generally a school at the end of Q1 that felt light and as calm as we can be before a Halloween during an ongoing pandemic.

We will continue to chase this feeling of calm throughout the year.  We have all come to realize that finding peace where we can is the key to moving forward and preparing for the uncertainty that seems to pervade everything.  That finding time to celebrate with gourds and spooky cookies is just another way to focus on what we can control and enjoy what we do have.

Thank you for your support of RMS - we are 25% of the way through the year (can you believe it).  This weekend please stay safe (and dry), be well, and take care of each other.

Warmly,

Tim Boyle
Principal
