Dear RMS Community:
Almost….there…. The year like no other is coming to a close. With all we have accomplished this year, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank the staff members from RMS who are moving on next year. Some are retiring, others moving to greener pastures, some simply returning to school/life that was interrupted by the pandemic. We are beyond grateful to each and every one of them - all of whom went above and beyond any expectations to provide a semblance of normalcy to education this year. In a continuation of a long running nautical theme of this year of weathering the storm…
“Strong winds and following seas” to the following members of RMS.
Ellen Fisher and Sara Mills will be away next year on Leaves of Absence, pursuing exciting educational opportunities away from RMS.
Please join us in a celebration of thanks for Mr. Doug Lantz, our crossing guard. Our suggestion is to create signs to place in the windows of cars, to be displayed on Tuesday, June 8th. While this is not the last day of school, Doug is going on vacation (he is finally accepting a 10 year invitation from a friend down South), and will not be in the crosswalk for the last days of that week. While he is returning the 14th, we wanted to give 8th graders a chance to show their appreciation.
Please join us in this pandemic appropriate celebration of the people who make RMS a special place.
Enjoy the wonderful weekend. Thank you for your continued support. Please be safe, stay well, and take care of each other.

News from the Library Renovation Project
RMS proposed three stages for the library: new shelving and carpet, a makerspace area and an updated classroom area. We expect to fully fund stage one and order the carpet and shelving soon. With continued donations, we will order the furniture for the makerspace area and the classroom area after that.
We appreciate the support we have received and will continue to seek donations from our broader community to improve the space and create an environment that will benefit our student population. See Plans here.
If you are able to contribute financially, please send a check made payable to Dresden School District and a memo for "Library Renovation" and mail it to RMS, 63 Lyme Road, Hanover, NH 03755. Thank you for considering!
Calling Alpine Skiers!
For rising 9th graders:
For those potentially interested in joining the Alpine Skiing team at Hanover High School next winter, there will be an informational Zoom meeting on Sunday, June 6th at 7:00pm with HHS Ski Captains and Head Coach, Gabi Formankova. This meeting is for both incoming and returning skiers to discuss the program.
The HHS Alpine Ski Team is a competitive ski racing program that competes in the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA). Ski racing experience is needed to participate.

Richmond Middle School PTO
The newly formed RMS PTO held regular meetings, organized a parent-child book club, a welcome committee and several teacher appreciation events during this past year. We are hoping to broaden our community next school year by offering more socials and increased communications starting with a back to school picnic, date to be determined. We also hope to provide a password protected online directory of the Richmond Middle School family contacts. The same format has been used by the Marion Cross School PTO.
All RMS staff and parents or legal guardians with current RMS students are automatically members of the PTO. Thus these efforts are funded solely by donations. Please consider sending a check to Richmond Middle School PTO, 63 Lyme Rd, Hanover NH 03755 or via @Tracey-Hayes-23 (PTO business Venmo in the works) with the memo "RMS PTO."
Additionally, please see this google doc to sign up for participation and planning PTO efforts, activities and meetings. 2021- 22 PTO information and participation questionnaire
