Dear RMS Community:

Some highlights from the past week:

Josie Dennis in the fashion show that closed the clothing unit in Spanish class.  Josie is resplendent in her ensemble, topped by un gorro multicolor.  Thanks to Ms. Swartz for the photo

Below is a visual representation of the relationship between George and Lenny from Of Mice and Men as seen in Ms. Haines’s class.  Small, dented George pouring friendship into large, leaky, and damaged Lenny.  Just one of many amazing insights into the classic book I witnessed this week.   Our students are so insightful and fun.

The ball is ready to drop!  Our school day will end with a celebration of 2019 and a look forward to 2020.  Thanks to Mr. Lacrosse, the leadership class, and Ms. Ellis’ art class for planning and provisioning our first annual “ball drop” celebration.  Wish us luck cleaning up the confetti!

The new decade will bring many events, including: a 7th grade parent check in, parent reading groups, parent socials, 8th grade planning for High School, the RMS Camp Fair, 3rd Quarter Arena Scheduling, the Renaissance Festival, field trips, Theatre performances, and countless other opportunities to build community.

Please have a wonderful homework free holiday break.  Remember fondly the highlights of 2019 (there were many for me and my family), and look forward to the goodness that 2020 will bring.  We will miss you, and look forward to reconnecting in the new year. Thank you for a great 2019.

Warmly,

Tim Boyle

Need a Gift Idea

Get something that if fun and helps RMS - A Skateboard - We have partnered with the Get On Board program that lent us the skateboards for our school unit and we have bought some boards from last year as well. Follow This link if you would like to purchase a complete skateboard like we used in class. These boards have been extensively researched and were chosen based on their durability and quality while tested in schools around the state. As an added bonus, every purchase you make contributes towards building our equipment supply, or use the donate option to give directly to the RMS skateboarding fund. Please let Ms. Patch or Rye Airfield know if you have any questions.
